Christmas Day!

This year we switched off holidays. We were in Santaquin with Dave's family for Thanksgiving and in Logan at my parents for Christmas. Traditionally for Christmas, my mom makes breakfast and Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle Steve, Aunt Melissa and their family, come over to eat and play with our new Christmas stuff! This year, Dave and I went over to my mom's after we opened our gifts and opened up our gifts from them and gave them their gifts. After that, the rest of the family came over and we ate. We then showed grandma and grandpa what we bought with their Christmas money they gave us. My parents got us some clothes as well as money that we are using to take a trip next week. My brothers got some new games for their Wii, so we played those. The games got kind of competetive and my little cousin Austin who is about 7, lost at Mario Kart and threw a fit and started throwing stuff, so his family took off and it was pretty quiet after that. We went to the movie "Bedtime Stories" with Adam Sandler! That is a cute movie and I recommend it as a good family movie. Anyways, we had an awesome Christmas!! Hope you all did too!Dad and Dave cleaning up wrapping paper! Brady playing the new Cabela's big game hunt on the Wii while Bubba and Dave watch. Dad's not too excited about his picture being taken!!

The day after Christmas, we went to Santaquin to celebrate with Dave's family. We opened gifts Friday night and watched the Phantom of the Opera. On Saturday, December 27, we went bowling and to dinner and to see the Festival of Lights in Spanish Fork. This is Dave's grandpa Fowers, Katelyn and Kristen after opening presents the day after Christmas.

Our First Christmas

7:00 a.m. rolls around and Dave's little sister decided she needed to call Dave to tell him what Santa brought her. I was not planning on waking up until about 7:30 but Dave was so excited after talking to Katelyn that he was just dying to open our Christmas presents. Dave got me a really pretty jewelery box, a necklace and earrings, a new blow dryer, new earphones for my ipod, and lots of stocking stuffers and other gifts!! I got Dave a new Carharrt vest, a puffy blue vest, ipod accessories, sunflower seeds, a couple John Deere tractors and some stocking stuffers! We both got just what we wanted from each other, it was AWESOME. I'm really good with the self timer on the camera! Dave's new John Deere tractor ornaments and his new headphones! He's a happy camper!

Sleddin' Fools!

On Christmas Eve, Dave and I thought it'd be pretty fun to go sledding. We got a couple of tubes from Big O and got them filled with some air. Before we went, we cruised over to Taco Bell with Bubba and my mom for some food then dropped off mom and drove over to a park in Providence. But, it was pretty scary and I'm pretty sure we would have died or ran into a tree if we would have sled down it. So, we decided to go up to Cliffside to a park. There were a lot of people. We found the biggest hill we could and just started going. Only having tubes and a little saucer, jumps were not really a good choice (because of the donut hole, your butt was doomed to get hurt) But, being the crazzies that we are, we did it anyways. Here are a few of the pictures that we took while sleddin!
This is Dave and Bubba, hardcore and ready to rumble. Note: the small red saucer to the right of Dave will come into play later in the pictures.
This is me, I'm not gonna lie, this hurt a little!Bubba didn't even hit this hard! Wuss! Dave hittin his jump!!

Bubba and I, Cheesin it! This is the small red saucer incident...Bubba ran and jumped on his stomache onto the saucer, trying to be cool and bounced his chin off the ground!!! He layed in the snow for about 5 minutes! Not too long after this tragedy, we packed up our stuff and ended the Christmas Eve fun!!

Pond Family Christmas Party

Every year, my side of the family, the Ponds' pick a day around Christmas time that works for everyone and they have a party at my parents house in River Heights. It's not a very huge family. My dad has 4 brothers who each have kids. Everyone comes from my dad's side of the family that is able to. We usually eat dinner, exchange gifts, play games like Grab Bags, and watch some football if any is on. My uncle Scott and his family came from Spanish Fork, my uncle Ryan and his family from Lehi, my uncle Steve and his family from Providence. And my cousin Aaron represented his family that is from California and couldn't make it out for the party. Of course Grandma and Grandpa came too! This year my mom cooked a really good homemade Chicken Cordon Bleu!! We ate and exhanged gifts. Everyone seems to have a good time and a lot of really good food! I love when my family gets together. Even though they may be disfunctional at times or a little loud, it wouldn't be Christmas without a Pond Family Christmas party! This is Brady, Aunt Andrea and Grandma! This is mom and dad (aka Elfman)

Christmas Pictures!!

So many people take cute family pictures almost every year. Well, I don't remember the last time my family got together to take pictures, and we finally did today!! My mom's friend Teresa took some with her nice camera and I took a couple with mine so they're not professional but maybe later I will post some of hers that she took. I love this time of year because it just brings families closer together. I think it's pretty important to take family pictures to preserve the memories of what everyone looks like and new things that occur in the family. Things that have updated in my family are things like Dave and I getting married or my brother just getting engaged. Both people are additions to the family and it's important to keep updating our family history and pictures. Anyways, that's my spill on pictures...Here are a couple.

Dave's 25th Birthday!!

Today is Dave's birthday!! He turned 25!! Hopefully he had a good birthday. For his birthday Dave got to choose where we went to dinner. He chose Angie's. Then we went to the USU vs. Weber St. basketball game. After the game we went to my parents house to have Dave's favorite cake which is German Chocolate! I asked his boss to help me get someone to cover his late night shift so that we could celebrate his birthday. It turned out really nice and we even got to spend a couple hours together after the game. A couple weeks before his birthday, I secretively got a CD player installed in his truck. He had no idea and it was an awesome suprise he said. HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAVE!!!

A BIGHORN SHEEP FINALLY!

So! Remember the once in a lifetime tag I told you about for the Rocky Mountain Bighorn sheep? Well, today, he finally shot it! When he gets home I'll have to have him tell the story of how he shot it and get some more pictures up. This is just what I got on my phone! Hopefully he takes it to his parents house because I don't know what we'd do with it in Logan. I talked to him on the phone after he got it and he sounded way happy. He went with his family and it sounded like he had a good time! He will probably come home tomorrow night. Anyways, thats all for now!

Halloween Weekend!

Dave and I didn't decide to dress up for Halloween until TWO DAYS before. I had to dress up for work and he wanted to dress up to go to visit his parents on Halloween night. We went all over the place it seemed like. There was a red wig with pony tails that I thought was way funny, so I decided to be Wendy from Wendy's. We got some overalls from the D.I. and that was that. I thought it'd be funny if Dave were to be the King from Burger King, Colonel Sanders from KFC or Ronald McDonald, but we had a hard time trying to put them together that fast. Instead, he just dressed up in some of my brother's old baseball uniforms and was a baseball player. He look really cute. After work on Halloween, we drove to Santaquin to see Dave's family for the weekend. They liked our costumes but then we just ended up going to bed and not even doing anything after that!! Saturday morning, November 1, Dave's dad and us woke up at 4:30a.m. and drove down to the Book Cliffs to look for a Big Horn Sheep. Dave drew out a tag for it this year. It's a once in a lifetime tag. Only about 4 other people draw out for this tag each year. The Book Cliffs are very pretty but get very old after a while. We drove around for hours looking for sheep. We saw about 14 that day but none that Dave wanted to shoot. He has until the end November to find one. He just went down again this weekend without me to look for one. I just talked to him on the phone and he said that he didn't find one that he wanted to shoot. Eventually, once he gets one, we will just end up mounting it and hanging it up in our house when we move back to Santaquin. I'll keep ya posted on the hunt.

Pumpkin Walk

This was an awesome day!! On October 25, 2008, we went to the Aggie vs. Fresno State football game, had dinner with my extended family, and went to the Pumpkin Walk in North Logan. The Aggies lost in the last couple of seconds of the game. :( My dad's two brothers Scott and Ryan, came to Logan for the weekend with their families. After the game, we all met up at my parents house for some spaghetti. My mom probably fed atleast 25 people that day! We even got grandpa Rodger to come to dinner and to the Pumpkin Walk!! That's a miracle. Dave has never been to it and it's been years since I have been to it. My brother Brady's girlfriend came with us too. She got to meet the whole crazy family. We had lots of fun and it was free. Nothing fun is free these days!! Hopefully we can go back next year, it would be a pretty fun tradition.
This picture below is of Dave and I at the Aggie Football game!!

Moving to Logan

On August 16, 2008 we packed up all of our things from Santaquin and moved into a little one bedroom apartment in Logan. We filled up both the car and the truck with our stuff. We love our apartment!! Almost right after we moved to Logan, we went to the demolition derby and did a couple of other fun things before Dave had to start school.

Dave started school at the end of August and I started working full-time at a place called Impact Payments. We have kept pretty busy since then. On the weekends we usually go watch my little brother play football and go watch the USU football team. They suck so the only reason we go is for something to do. I love being in Logan and being able to see some of my friends like Devon, Chelsie, Amy and Kacee. Dave likes Logan too but I can tell that he misses the farm and his family and all of his John Deere stuff that I made him leave behind!

Dave ready for his first day of school!! Don't worry, I packed up is pack pack with lots of snacks for his first day. Ignore the date on this picture and all the other ones, I forgot to change the date when I took the pictures.

Bees Games!

For the 24th of July we went to a Salt Lake Bees with my Mom, Dad and little brother, Bubba. The bees won and we got to see a really awesome fireworks show afterwards. I wish I would have taken some pictures of them. My mom's eyes are closed in this picture but it's the only one that I
had. We gotta preserve memories here!!!
We didn't get to see my family alot this summer because of our busy schedules, so this was a way fun night for us!
