Memorial Day

This will be a quick post but I wanted to put a couple of cute pictures up! Well it has been an eventful weekend! My cousin Ashley got married on Thursday (May 26) in Salt Lake. We went to the reception at Wadley Farms in Lindon that night. It was the first time that my dad's whole side of the family had been together for a lot of years. So, we were able to get a family picture with everyone (except Bubba since he's on a mission). It was great to see everyone!
After the wedding, Landon and I drove to Logan to spend the night (Dave was working) then left for Bear Lake on Friday! We have a timeshare condo in Bear Lake and usually the whole Pond family goes up on Memorial Day Weekend. This year that was not the case. Everyone was really busy and it was crappy weather so it was just a small group of us. It was pretty chilly so we spent most of the time in the condo. We took the babies for a stroller ride and did a few other fun things. We took Landon to the playground on the beach and let him swing in the baby swing! HE LOVED IT. It was kind of mad when we took him out. Baby Jaxson
Landon and I drove home from Bear Lake on Saturday night.

On Sunday, we were able to suprise Dave's parents! Dave's brother, Jesse and his new wife Katie have found out that they're pregnant! But, they live in California and wanted to tell Dave's family on Sunday. So, usually on Sunday we will Skype with Jesse and Katie for a few minutes just to say hi! Jesse and Katie asked us the night before if we would get one of Landon's onesies and write "I'm going to be a cousin". So, I found one of Landon's old little onesies that still sort of fit him and used a sharpie to write it out. Then when we went to my in-laws on Sunday for dinner, we were skyping with Jesse and Katie and I took off Landon's little t-shirt to show Glade and Kellie the shirt. So Jesse and Katie were able to see their reaction as they found out the news. I thought it was a pretty cute idea! Especially for being out in California.

Sunday was Dave and I's 3 year anniversary! WOO HOO we made it 3 years! So, we decided to celebrate on Monday. We both had the day off (that's a miracle for Dave) We took Landon to my in-laws and Dave and I went shopping and just spent the day together. We went to lunch and then saw the new Pirates movie in 3D. That was my first every 3D movie and I really liked it. Dave just thought it was okay.

Anyways, that was our Memorial Day Weekend in a nutshell! :)

Favorite Picture

So, this is currently my most favorite picture of Landon. I took it yesterday with my cell phone at Wal-Mart. Landon doesn't like going to the store in his car seat, so I decided to let him ride in the cart since he is starting to sit up a little bit on his own. He really liked it for about 10 minutes....I'm convinced that he just doesn't like to go shopping!

4 Months and lots of great news!

I can't believe Landon is 4 months old! He is getting so big and has changed so much it's absolutely insane! This last week, on March 4, Landon's very first cousin was born. Brady and Virginia had their sweet little boy who was 8 lbs 7 oz and 21 inches. He was born in Logan. They named him Jaxson Derek Pond. Landon and I made a trip up to Logan on Friday to meet little Jaxson. Landon and Jaxson are 4 months apart to the day! Pretty cool. We love little baby Jaxson and are soooo glad that he's in our family now.
In other great news, Dave and I have made the largest purchase of our lives... Yes, we bought a HOUSE! It is in Santaquin, which is where we currently live! It has 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and a 2 car garage! It also has an awesome shop in the backyard for Dave to work in and to weld. We are closing during the last week of March and can move in after April 4! If anyone feels like lending a helping hands during that time, we would love the help! We don't have a lot of furniture yet so if you have any couches, side tables, coffee tables, etc. that you would like to get rid of or sell, let me know!! :) Because most likely, I will be able to take them off of your hands until we can afford to buy brand new stuff.
Other LATE but still great news...we had another addition to the family on February 15. My uncle Ryan and his wife April had a little baby boy! Jack Ryan Pond. We were able to go and visit them a few days after little Jack was born. (Landon looks GINORMOUS next to all these little newborns!!)

Like I said, Landon is changing a ton! Here are some new things about him and things he's done.

*He smiles ALL THE TIME!*He will scream his head off if you try to craddle him in your arms and he's not sleepy

*He will gets pretty happy when he hears my voice

*He has sat in his booster/high chair for the first time

*He likes his bumbo chair....sometimes (His thighs are a little too chunky for it)

*He loves to grasp toys and tries to eat all of them*He has met the bummer baby lambs and was fixated on them for like 10 minutes while they "baa"ed.

*Comes to work with mom on Fridays and sometimes sleeps on my desk*He is starting to giggle a little

*He munches on his fingers every chance he gets

*He is eating a lot more and tries to hold his own bottle. He is successful 75% of the time.

*He has been on his first vacation which was to California for his uncle Jesse's wedding on January 15

*He has touched the Pacific Ocean

*He was blessed on January 2, 2010 in the Santaquin 12th ward by his dad!

*He has seen the San Diego Temple

Overall, we are a busy and happy little family!

6 weeks and counting!

It's so hard to believe that Landon is already 6 weeks old! He is growing so much and is not slowing down. Overall, he has been a great baby and is a lot of fun! Around 4 weeks old, he started to get a little bit of a cough and a stuffy nose so I took him to the doctor and he weighed 11 lb. 8 oz.!! That's a gain of 2 pounds since he was born! Now that he's 6 weeks, I wonder what he weighs. He is a chunk and he has really long legs and arms. He is starting to lose his hair around his hairline in the front. Luckily, there is other hair growing in, it's just a little shorter than the rest of the hair. He is starting to make a lot of sounds, and frequently keeps Dave and I up at night because of all the noise...even though he's not crying. He is in a bassinett by my bed. He sleeps in his boppy pillow because he has been stuffy so if he sleeps propped up in the boppy, he can breath better. But, sometimes when he wakes up in the morning, he has squirmed his way out of the boppy and he's laying flat. It's really kind of funny that he can move that much. He almost sleeps throught he night too! He will go to bed around 9 or 10 and won't wake up until about 4 or 5 and then he'll go right back to sleep until about 8. Hopefully as he gets older and bigger, he will just sleep straight through until about 6ish.

Other things that Landon likes/does:
-Falls asleep in the car in 1.3 seconds
-Smiles a lot in his sleep
-Sucks on his hands during his tummy time (or screams in this case)
-Looks like he's holding his binki in his mouth when he's sleeping (You can see where he's losing his hair in this picture)-Snores
-Makes funny sounds when he's hungry and you give him his binki
-Hates the taste of his gas drops
-Hates getting his temperature taken (on his forehead)
-Gurggles when I have to put Saline drops in his nose
-Likes to lay on the kitchen table with the light on above him
-Loves to snuggle in his fluffy blanket after he gets his bath
-Likes to take naps with mom and dad on the couch
-Hates getting a sponge bath! Would much rather have a real bath!

Well, I'm sure there are lots of other things that I'm forgetting but for now, this is what I can remember. I have gone back to work a few days a week and have been taking Landon to a babysitter. He seems to do really good and he's happy when he comes home. It's hard to leave him but I think it's good for him and me to have some time apart sometimes. I love being a mom even though sometimes it's really hard. Dave loves being a dad too and loves coming home to me and Landon! :)

Landon Leroy Robbins

Landon Leroy Robbins FINALLY made his appearance after 22 hours of labor on Thursday November 4, 2010 weighing a large 9 pounds 8 ounces and measuring 22 inches long! He has big hands and big feet and big shoulders. I can't believe that he fit inside of me somehow! The doctors told me that he was going to be a large baby a few weeks ago but none of them anticipated that he would weigh more than 9 pounds.
At 12:45 on Thursday morning, my water broke. We called the doctor and he told me to make my way over to Labor and Delivery. So, I woke up Dave and we grabbed our bags and got in the car. We got to the hospital and checked in. I wanted to make sure that I was going to be admitted before calling either of our families. So, after about 30 minutes of tests and paperwork, I was admitted and told that I would be starting Pitocin in an hour if I hadn't already progressed on my own. (I was only dialated 1 cm still) At 2:30, Dave and I called our parents to tell them the good news, knowing that it was going to be a long process. When I called my parents, I told them to just come when they woke up in the morning but, they couldn't wait, so they started making their way to Provo and got there around 6:15am. I really wanted to wait as long as I could to get my epidural. I tried so hard to be tough and wait as long as I could but after about 3 hours on the pitocin, the contractions were really intense so I had my epidural placed. Around 1pm the baby's heart rate dropped and I was twisted and turned into a bunch of different positions to get the baby off of his umbilical cord. During all this turning, my epidural was dislodged and I could feel EVERYTHING! Another hour or two later, we decided to do another epidural. This epidural worked for a few hours and then gradually started to wear off. The anestheiologist said that my body wasn't responding to the medication so he was going to have to manually administer a higher strength every 45 minutes. Around 9pm I was finally dialated to a 10 and could start pushing. I am so glad Dave was there to help me. He was so encouraging and positive even though I know it was really hard for him to see me in pain, he did so good and I couldn't have done it without him. The doctor finally said that he could help me by using the forceps. So without going into too much detail, he used them and was able to get Landon's head out but his shoulders got stuck. This caused his umbilical cord to get pinched off and he was without oxygen for about 45 seconds. He also had some fluid in his lungs. Once they were able to get him out, he was rushed to the table next to me and the NICU people were rushed in my room because he wasn't breathing. They attached a heart monitor to him and we were able to hear his heart beat even though we couldn't hear him cry because he had a tube down his throat. He was taken to the NICU before I was able to hold him, but was able to see his face for about 10 seconds before they wheeled him out. The next couple of hours were really hard for me. Not seeing him and holding him was breaking my heart, even though all of the nurses kept telling me that he was doing fine and that they were just making sure that everything was okay before releasing him from the NICU. Finally, after being transfered to the Mother/Baby part of the hospital, they brought him to my room around 1:30am. As soon as I saw his face, I couldn't concentrate on how much pain I was in or what I had just gone through. He had the sweetest face, even though it was really puffy and his right eye was really swollen. We instantly fell in love with him. My parents were there when they brought him to us so they were able to see him before leaving the hospital. Dave spent the night at the hospital with me and my parents went to Santaquin to stay at my house. We had a lot of visitors the next day in the hospital. All of Dave's family came and some of my relatives came and some of our friends. The next day, my parents had gone back to Logan and picked up both my grandma's and Brady and Virginia.

It was really nice to finally come home from the hospital. We have been having a great time with the baby, even though he is a lot of work. He sleeps really well and is still learning how to eat, but every day he just gets better and better. My mom has been staying with me this week to help me out. THANK HEAVENS FOR HER! I seriously think I would've had a mental breakdown without her. Dave had to go back to work on Monday so, I wouldn't have had his help during the day while I'm healing AND trying to take care of the baby.

Landon had his first Doctor appointment yesterday (November 9) just a 5 day check to make sure that he's still doing okay. The dr. said that he's doing great. He has lost 6 oz so he currently weighs about 9 lbs 2 oz. (still huge)

Today, I'm taking him to get his pictures taken. So far, he really enjoys his carseat, bouncer and his boppy pillow. He HATES getting his diaper changed or having any articles of clothing removed. He's starting to smile a lot in his sleep.

Thanks to everyone that has come to visit or has called or texted. We are so excited to have Landon here finally and so greatful that he his healthy and that I'm healthy after such a scary day! We are so blessed to have him in our family!

Come On Baby!

Only 9 days left until my official due date! I can't wait! I just want my little baby to be here in my arms finally. 9 months is way too long I have decided. And these last 2 weeks or so have been really hard on me. My body aches in ways I never thought it could ache. My back, neck, shoulders, feet, legs, hands and hips will be very happy once I can recover from this pregnancy. I'm writing all of this because I've heard that once you see your baby, you forget about all the pain and agony you went through to get your baby here, but I want to remember it a little bit so that I don't have 50 million kids! There were definately fun parts about being pregnant but people are not kidding when they say the last 1-2 months are very difficult. Poor Dave, he's been dealing with a nut case these last few weeks. I almost think he will be more excited to have the baby here than I will, just cuz I won't be pregnant anymore!

Dave says he is worried that he won't make it to the hospital in time since he works in a bunch of crazy different places and we never know if he's going to have cell phone service.

Bitter Sweet Weekend!

This last weekend I spent 3 whole days in Logan. ( I never get to stay that long ) Friday, I had a daddy/daughter day with my dad. He took the day off of work so we could hang out. We shopped and ate all day and it was a lot of fun. I love my dad, he's gonna be an awesome Grandpa.

On Saturday, I had 2 baby showers! I know, I'm spoiled, right? Well, they were both so much fun. The first one was put on by my Sister in Law Virginia and she did awesome! Especially for doing it all by herself. The shower was for Family, Family Friends and Ward members. There was a great turn out and it was so good to see so many people that I hardly ever get to see anymore! Everybody was also VERY generous! The baby hardly needs anything else now. It was great. The second shower was put on by my friends Chelsie and Amy. It was really fun and good to see my friends. I love hanging out with them and they also spoiled me! I'm so blessed to have such supportive friends and family.

After the showers, Dave came to Logan. He was on his way to Montana with a semi truck load of some farm equipment and decided to stop in Logan for the night and then continue driving to Montana on Sunday. I was very excited to see him because I hadn't seen him since Thursday and knew I wouldn't see him for a few days since he'd be in Montana. My mom, dad, Brady, Virginia, Dave and I went to Aggy's for dinner so we could watch the Boise State football game at the restaurant. Then, we just went back to my parents and relaxed the rest of the night. It was a veerryyy long day, so everyone was really tired.

Dave was going to Montana for work to load bales of straw onto helicopters so they could drop the straw onto land that had been burned by wildfires. Sounds pretty cool, but neither Dave or I were excited for him to do it. He is STILL gone and won't be back until Thursday (tomorrow) night. I can honestly say that this is the longest that we've been apart since we've been married...I hate it. Of course, I don't see him a lot when he is home but I hate going to bed at night by myself, cooking for myself and entertaining myself. Not to mention, our house is super creepy at night so I tend to scare myself.

I am 35 weeks pregnant today. Feet are still swollen and I have been told that my nose is looking puffier. I feel like a cow and it doesn't help that people make stupid comments. Why is it that people don't think before they speak sometimes? Doesn't everyone know that pregnant women are emotional already, and that they don't need to add to it! I've heard so many comments about how "large" I am and how I look "Ready to Pop!" and I even got offered a motorized wheel chair at Wal-Mart by the door greeter the other day because he said I looked "miserable". Come on people! Anyways, I have a doc appointment next week and they will start checking every week to see if I have started dialating. I'm getting very excited and I'm sooo ready for this baby to come! :)

Bubba has officially left the Provo MTC and is in Dallas Texas. He was really excited to get out into the mission field.

That's all I have for today! Have a great week everyone!
