Exciting News!

For those of you that didn't already know.....I am 12 weeks pregnant and am due on November 3!! We are so excited!!! Dave was a little nervous at first but I think he's growing into the idea and he's becoming more and more excited everyday! I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow morning and we're going to hear the heart beat. Dave is coming with me so hopefully that will crank up his excitement just a little more :) I haven't been very sick although I have had a few bad days where I'm naseous or really tired but overall it hasn't been very bad at all. I know a few people that are pregnant right now and are just miserable so I just have to remember that it could be way worse!! I'm hoping that some of my married friends will start having some babies so that mine can have some buddies!!! (hint hint to most of you that read this) Over the next couple of months, I will try my best to keep you updated. We know that we won't get an ultrasound until 20 weeks when we find out the sex, but when that happens, I will definately post it.

Other great news! Dave and I are going on a cruise on May 2! We decided that since we're going to have a family shortly, we need to go on last chance vacation since we probably won't go on one for a while after we start having kids. We're going on the Mexican Riviera cruise. I have been on this cruise before, but it's been about 4 years so I don't remember a ton of it. Dave hasn't ever been on a cruise, so it will be fun to go with him!! Our boat goes to Puerta Vallarta, Cabo San Lucas and Mazatlan, Mexico and it's 7 days. Last weekend I bought a fancy new camera so I'm planning on taking a lot of awesome pictures, expect to see some in the next few weeks. (hopefully)

Anyways, that's my great news for now!! :)

Birthday/Staycation/Wrastling

It's been a long time since I blogged! I don't know why I can't keep up. Well, first of all my birthday was on January 13 and I turned 22. I don't feel that old!! For my birthday, we went to dinner with Dave's family to my most favoritest restaurant, Los Amigos, in Payson. (If you ever go there I recommend the smothered chicken burrito) Then, we came back to our house and Dave got me a really yummy cookie dough ice cream cake from Dairy Queen and some pretty flowers!!! The cake was sooo good!!He did a great job, I'm almost glad that he didn't try to bake one! :) He did forget to get candles so for the picture, I'm not blowing any candles. It was a great birthday and I was spoiled. My parents even got me a sewing machine! Now I just need to learn how to sew... Anyways, it was a great birthday and I loved it!!

The weekend of Valentine's Day, Dave and I went on a little "stay"cation. We just went to Salt Lake for a day and then spent the night and went to Park City the next day. We did lots of fun shopping and went to the Salt Lake Temple. I had never done a session at the S.L. Temple so this was a first for me and it was really cool!! I realy liked it and plan on doing it a lot more. I love going to the temple with Dave. It always reminds me of our wedding day and all of those promises we made to each other. I'm so grateful that we have temples!!

On March 6, we did something I never though would ever honestly happen in my lifetime. We went to a WWE wrestling match at the E-Center in Salt Lake. Why? I don't know...but it was very interesting. If you don't know what the WWE is, it's those big huge fake wrestlers like Triple H, John Cena, etc. Anyways, it's pretty redneck and we got to experience it from the 9th ROW! Wow, we're so lucky! Dave likes to watch wrestling on Monday nights so that's kind of where we got the idea. Anyways, here are some goofy pictures from this crazy adventure. ( I have to get the goofy pictures off of Dave's phone so I will post them later)

The Weekend

Dave and I have finally decided that we need a little vacations. Between holidays, work, family, and the farm, we are pretty much getting burnt out! We're going to take a little weekend trip to Salt Lake tomorrow. I know that doesn't sound like much but when you're on a budget and don't want to drive far, you do what you can, right? So, we're going to stay in Salt Lake at a really cute hotel and go to Temple Square and go to the Temple all day! And we're also going to go shopping :) I'm sooo excited! We haven't been to the temple in a while and I have NEVER been inside the Salt Lake Temple besides doing baptisms for the dead !!! Oh my gosh I'm so excited I can't even handle it!
I'm glad we're taking a little time for Valentine's Day to spend some time together, it will be very very nice!

My Hero

I'm finally updating my blog. This is something I've wanted to blog about for the last couple of weeks and keep putting it off. I'm glad to finally get the chance to do it without making excuses. My grandpa, Earl LeRoy Jorgensen, passed away last Sunday January 17, 2010. He died in his home with my Grandma Gerry at his side. He has been sick for most of his life. He started a battle with cancer a couple of years ago and told the doctors he did not want any therapy or treatment. A few months later, the doctors told him that they could no longer see the cancer in his body. He then took my grandma through the temple to be sealed for her for time and all eternity, a day that I will never forget! A couple weeks before Christmas this last year, he started to get a lot of cramps in his stomach and did not feel good. Grandma took him to the ER where they ran some tests and sent him home. The next day, he got a phone call from his doctor that the tests they ran showed that he had about half of the blood supply in his body than he should and he needed to check into the hospital first thing the next morning. He went to the hospital and they said they needed to hydrate him and get his pain under control. I'm not exactly sure which day this was but I think it was January 12th, the day before my birthday. They began to hydrate him and eventually told him that his cancer was back and that it was spreading very rapidly through his body. The doctor told him that he had about 2 months to live. On Thursday January 14th, his body started going into convulsions. My mom got a call from my uncle Kirk saying that he was going fast so my mom's friend Teresa rushed her to the Brigham Hospital where Grandpa was. I was at work that day and got a phone call around 10:00am from Teresa with the news. I couldn't keep my emotions under control and was at work 2 hours away from Grandpa. Eventually, I decided my best option would to just leave work and go to Brigham. So, I left work and rushed to see him as soon as I could. I cried myself all the way to Brigham thinking about the last time I told him that I loved him or the last time I kissed his cheek or the last time that I spent time with him. I realized it was not long before this time but that I wished I had done it more often. I wished I had been around to spend more time and learn more things about his life. And I couldn't believe that this was it! He had been a fighter his entire life and worked for everything that he had. How could such a great person be going through so much?? How could God take away this Hero?? After FINALLY getting to the hospital we transported Grandpa home because he could not stay there for another night due to insurance and finances. My mom's entire family met up at Grandpa's to see him, even though he was basically in a coma from the convulsions and cancer. Friday, me and mom went to Grandpa's to help Grandma clean and cook and just to be with them both. The hospice nurse came to the house to give him a bath and my mom attempted to shave his face. She did a horrible job but she had the most loving look in her eye as she did this. She loved her dad so much! He was such a great dad to her and was always so protective and loving. Grandpa slowly started to get worse as the days went by. His breathing slowed down a lot and organs started to shut down. I couldn't really take it anymore. I couldn't see him in so much pain. Dave and I drove home on Saturday night. I then got a text the next day from my mom that he had passed around 10am. My grandma told me that she really wanted him to go the same way that her mom did, and that was privately, just her and her mom while they were holding hands. Grandma says that that's the same way Grandpa went. They were married 54 years and got married when they were 16 and 17! Wow, they were so in love! I know I'm rambling on and I know most people won't read all of this but I just had to get my thoughts and feelings out. The funeral services were held Friday, January 22 at the Honeyville church and cemetery. Grandpa was in the Navy most of his life and so there were Military men everywhere. They were even standing on each end of Grandpa's casket. Grandma asked me to the play the piano so I practiced all week so that I could play for my Grandpa. I did an okay job but had a hard time keeping my emotions in so it was hard to read my music. I played a medley of"I Know That My Redeemer Lives" "I Believe In Christ" and "Reedemer of Israel". I know my Grandpa was proud of me and that he was up there laughing and smiling the whole time. Grandpa had so many great qualities about him. He was brave, smart, funny, sarcastic, loving, spiritual etc. He struggled his whole life with drinking and smoking but was always a good example about everything else. He believed in honesty and integrity. He taught me about hard work and how to earn all of things that I have. He taught me to mow the grass with a riding lawn mower and how to grow a garden. He ALWAYS made sure that we were safe when we were with him or around the farm animals. If we got too close to the campfire, he'd yell at us to back off so our butt's wouldn't start on fire. He would hold onto us when the big horses were around so they couldn't kick us. He would take us camping in the Uintahs and teach us how to fish. He was the greatest Grandpa and I'm so thankful for all that he has done for me and for my family. He will be missed more than anything in the entire world but I KNOW that Heavenly Father took him because he had a much better place for him! Love you Grandpa LeRoy! 21 Gun Salute!

Christmas Decorations

Here are a few of my Christmas decorations....I'm still working on a few so I didn't take pictures of them but this is what I've got so far. My pictures aren't the greatest quality either because I have to use my camera phone until I get a new camera! Since we live in Dave's grandparents old house, a lot his grandma's old decorations were still here so I tried to incorporate them as best I could. Some of them are actually really cool and just needed some updating!

Thanksgiving Weekend!

This Thanksgiving weekend was really fun! It started off with Dave's 26th Birthday which was the day before Thanksgiving! We went out to dinner at Sizzler in Provo with Dave's family. Then we came back to our house and had cake and ice cream. I made a double decker german chocolate cake...it was delicous!! I love celebrating birthdays!! Thursday morning we headed up to Logan. We left our dog here and I really wanted to take her with us but Dave didn't want to! :( Anyways, Thanksgiving dinner was at my mom's this year. My dad's side of the family came. The food was AWESOME! I didn't take any pictures on Thanksgiving but it was still a fun day! Later that night, my mom, Virigina, April, Tatum and Regan and I went to see New Moon. I seriously thought it was going to be the best movie ever after I heard all the hype from everyone else. Suprisingly, it was not really that great! Sure, I'll probably go see the 3rd one but I was not impressed. Friday, my mom and I went shopping with Virginia ,my grandma Gerry and aunt Pat. We hit the Novemberfest, Hobby Lobby, Sugar and Spice and all sorts of fun girly places! This is Dave trying on Bubba's coveralls that they bought! Later that night we decided to hang up some Christmas lights at Brady and Virginia's house in Logan. IT was quite the event. We had a lot of fun and it looked really cute when we were finished. Saturday, the boys went pheasant hunting! Me and My mom went and got our hair done. I chopped my hair off to about my chin and colored it blonde again. I don't have a picture of it but once I get the styling down I will take one. We put up my mom's Christmas decorations the rest of the day. She gave me a bunch of the ones she didnt' want anymore :) Dave's not excited about the fact that we brought home maybe 4 times more things than we went with.

It was a great Thanksgiving Weekend! I was so happy that Dave was able to get the weekend off of work to go with me! It was a much needed vacation from our every day lives! Now we're back to the real world. :(

Last night was our Ward Christmas party. We were asked to bring a salad so I made Italian Pasta Salad. It was gone within the first 10 minutes so it must have atleast looked good. There was a really good turnout and I actually knew like 50% of the people. We love our ward family. I will be really sad when we have to move out of this ward, if/when we move into our own house.

We're only about halfway done with our Christmas shopping! Even though I really love shopping, it feels like it is neverending right now. I need to go shopping today but it's Dave's familiy Christmas party today so I don't know if I will have time. Maybe we'll go later tonight! I still need to plan my Sunbeam lesson for tomorrow too!!!

Labor Day Weekend

Well this will be sort of a mixed up blog entry but oh well.

A few weeks ago, Dave had to go to work at 10pm and was driving his truck down the long road to our house when he hit a big bucket of tar that some stupid kids strung across the road from our orchard fence to the neighbors fence. It was dark so he couldn't see it and it splattered ALL over the front of the truck and all over inside the front wheel wells. Dave was so mad that he got out of the truck and threw what was left in the bucket and the bucket over the neighbors fence in with their cows. Dave found some miracle product that removes tar so we bought 4 big bottles of it. It took us probably 3 or 4 days to get the majority of the tar off the truck. Some splattered on my car too just from driving down the road.

A few weeks later, over labor day weekend, my mom, dad and Grandma Gerry came down because my dad had to ump baseball games in Salem and Spanish Fork. So they stayed with us for a few days. On Friday, me, my mom and grandma went to Swiss Days over by Heber. We spent pretty much the whole day and bought a TON of really really cute things and fall decorations. I have my mom's syndrome where I have to have millions of decorations for holiday's and I don't believe in accumulating it gradually! Dave doesn't like this about me. But we had a lot of fun and even though grandma has knee problems, she kept up and had a lot of fun.

On Saturday, we decided it would be fun to make freezer jam at my house, so we bought a bunch of cases of raspberries, blackberries and strawberries from Dave's uncle Lynn who owns a Fruit Ranch in Genola...(Genola is a few miles west of Santaquin) (Brady is holding the vacuum hose in the above pictures because we had a little fruit fly problem so he was sucking them up mid-air)
We went to the store and bought all the jars and ingredients...once we got making the jam we realized that we had a lot more berries than we thought so I ran to the store to get more. Brady and Virginia came to Santaquin around 4:00 on Saturday so when they got there they wanted in on the Jam so they started helping us. We ended up with about 70 pints of Jam!! Luckily, we split it between my mom, my grandma, me and my brother and his wife. My freezer is full of jam now so we'll be eating a lot of peanut butter and jam sandwiches I think. It was really fun having my family here for Labor Day weekend.

On Monday(Labor Day), my whole family was gone and I thought I was going to have to spend the whole day by myself because Dave always works, even if it is a holiday. But, the boss decided to let him have the day off so we went to the Payson City Onion Days parade and to the fair afterwards. It was a lot of fun to spend the day with my husband. I love every moment I get to spend with him!
